LB&SCR Signal Box

This box is based on Drayton, which contained 16 levers. Introduced in 1876 and demolished in 1986. It stood next to and controlled the level crossing.

A Saxby & Farmer style used widely on the LB&SCR. The livery is estimated from a photograph, believed to by 1960s BR(S) period. Includes crossing mirror and equipment cabinets. The fanlights are opaque.

Also available in pre-grouping LB&SCR livery with transparent fanlights (See below).

A low height building suitable for placing on a station platform or free standing alongside the railway track.

Footprint: 82 mm x 45.5 mm (82 x 55.5 including overhangs)

  2. 3 x A4 Sticky Back 1 Label Sheets (recommended). Otherwise, 3 x 80g/m2 A4 Copier/Ink Jet White Paper
  3. 1 x 80g/m2 A4 Copier/Ink Jet White Paper (for name board, gutters and stove pipe)
  4. 2 x 0.75 (750 micron) A4 Grey Board*
  5. 1 x A4 transparent printing film or packaging (Ideally 0.25 mm. Thinner is ok)
  6. 10 mm square aluminium kitchen foil (for mirror, if fitted)
  7. 70 mm x 1.3 mm wire
  8. 60 mm x 1 mm wire
  9. 150 mm x 0.6 mm wire
  10. Quick drying PVA glue
  11. Cyanoacrylate glue.
  12. Double sided tape (For window glass if not using sticky paper)
  13. Paper Glue Stick
  14. Grey paint for pipe wires (BR(S) livery version)
  15. Dark Burgundy paint for pipe wires, e.g. Precision Paints P18. (LB&SCR livery version)
  16. Artist fixer spray - To protect from potential ink runs due to moisture ingress if using water based ink

* Grey Board is a thicker form of cardboard, usually made from recycled material. Available from packaging firms, or eBay
